Tasked to conceptualise and design a Game Prototype
Students needed to produce a protype of a game, complete with a trailer video.
Our project was a 2D Investigative detective themed bullet hell game set in 2 dimensions, one dream world and one real world. The main character, Detective Reve has a special power that allows them to solve cases with ease: The power to predict cases in their dreams! However, their future readings suddenly turn awry one day, and they set out in both the real world and dream world to find out why.
The plot follows Reve, a young detective who explores their dreams further with the help of a murdered psychic, Ben. Along the way, they fight bosses that have real-world counterparts. In the real world, Reve works alongside their colleague, Sonaj, to solve the cases that crop up in their dreams.
My Contribution: Did the concept designs for the enemies, Ben and the bosses. I made the tilemap for the real world, most of the real world sprites and some cutscenes. I also animated most of the enemies and bosses, real world NPCs and all spine animations. Furthermore, as the Project manager, I kept everyone on task and helped out wherever needed.
